Motivation Monday- Motivation!

Happy Monday everyone!  How was your weekend??

First thing's first.  Instead of posting what my workouts were for the past week on MM, I've added a little box to the right ~~~~~~~> where I'll post my workouts every couple days.

I'm also going to try and keep track of how many miles I've run throughout the year.  I'm notorious for uhhh, not following through on ANYthing, but I really hope this one sticks.  I've also started logging my runs on Daily Mile.  If you're a member, let's be friends!!

Today I want to talk about... Motivation!

Haha, omg that movie.

Over the weekend, one of my besties (Hi MK!) posted on the 'book that she wanted some motivation to go running.  She got a bunch of responses that varied from: ice cream (not from me.....), to the great feeling when you're done (so true), to eating cheese (okay, both the food ones were from me), to pretend you're being chased by a lion.

That got me thinking about what motivates me, and in return, what does motivate everyone to get out the door and MOVE!?

I, obviously, cannot say what motivates others, but I certainly know what motivates me.  Here are a few things that help me get my running shoes on and GOING!

1.  Time to myself

I'm a mother of a 1 year old and an (almost ahhh) 4 year old.  Time to myself is like winning the lottery.  It never happens.  I'm lucky if I can go to the bathroom by myself (which also, never happens)

2.  Vanity

I wanna look good in my clothes.  And, without clothes.

3.  Stress reliever

When I'm stressed out, nothing calms me down like a good sweat session.

4.  Goals

If I have a race or a time goal in mind, I'm waaaaay more motivated to go run.

5.  I really love food

Ice cream, cereal, GREEK YOGURT, macaroni and cheese, any kind of mexican food, honestly I could go on forever, because I really love food.  And if I want to eat as much as I do, I need to workout.

6.  No really, I love to eat

Really, I do.

QUESTION:

What's your number one thing that motivates you to workout??

  1. #1- The way that I feel after a good run. Even if the run is horrible at the beginning (or middle), I feel great afterwards.

    1. I like the feeling after a terrible run even more than a good run I think. Then you know you battled your way through and finished! Accomplishment is a pretty great feeling :)
